The Path to Oblivion

The party picked up this session with receiving some intel from an Oakhurst scout that Mr. Misty and a small remaining troop of twig blights were camping in a nearby location. Upon visiting Felosial’s office, they found a familiar Drow, Allas, one of the folks who ambushed the group during Darrus’ trap in the Underdark. He theorized that Mr. Misty was weakened or otherwise disinclined to fight in the light. Using that information, you formulated a plan to bring the fight directly to him.

Allas also mentioned that he fled the Underdark after Mr. Misty's attack, fearing that he might return. He was disheartened to find that the creature also moved to the surface, but he was subsequently inspired by the teamwork displayed during the previous night's battle and decided he would play his part to help rid the world of that terrible creature.

Before they left to confront the remaining army, they decided to spend some time with Sharwyn, Talgen, and, especially Sir Braford. Sharwyn identified the rest of the supplies they found in the Citadel and the Underdark, they exchanged some gaffes between Mordai and Sir Braford, and finally decided to take the three of them along in their battle against Mr. Misty.

They tracked him to the location Allas and the scout mentioned and, after some stealthy (or not so stealthy) advances, came across a trio of disturbing looking twig blights, the likes of which they had not encountered directly before. 

Allas, the unlikely drow ally.

Or at least that was their plan, until they found Calcyrx and Meepo effectively crashing the party and frightening the civilians. That was not their intention, though; the dragon simply wanted to partake as well. The group confronted them, thanking them for their help in the defense of Oakhurst, where Calcyrx rained her icy breath on the blights from above. They destroyed the spider and crossed the gate, but were intercepted my more Drow elves. These Drow claimed that they had been trailing the team of surfacers for some time and was collecting information on them. The leader of this group, a woman named Ishtar, offered something of a deal between them, but first said that she will escort them to Menzoberranzan, the Drow city and the party's goal. Without much of a choice, they decided to follow Ishtar and her team.
